New Balance officially stepped further into the football space this past weekend, hosting its inaugural Kickoff Event at The TRACK at New Balance. The event brought together athletes, media, partners, and local fans to highlight the brand’s growing focus on performance innovation and its expanding presence on the gridiron.
Central to the weekend was the unveiling of two new football cleats: the New Balance Rev X and New Balance Rev iQ. Positioned at the top end of the lineup, the Rev X ($170) is built for speed-focused positions, utilizing FitWeave construction to deliver a more adaptive, locked-in fit geared toward quick cuts and acceleration. Alongside it, the Rev iQ ($130) offers a more flexible, balanced option, designed to support natural movement while maintaining stability through play.
The event also served as a platform to introduce Jalen Milroe as the newest addition to New Balance’s football roster. Announced in partnership with Maria Taylor, the former University of Alabama standout and current Seattle Seahawks quarterback joins the brand with both on-field credentials and a strong focus on community work, including youth coaching and regular hospital visits.
Beyond product and athlete announcements, the day leaned heavily into community engagement. A youth session led by New England Patriots coaches gave local kids hands-on experience, while a panel discussion brought together former Patriots Tedy Bruschi and Danny Amendola, alongside current player Milton Williams and New Balance athletes including Chase Young and Marvin Harrison Jr..
The on-field portion of the event allowed attendees to test both the New Balance Rev X and New Balance Rev iQ in live scenarios, offering a direct look at how the models perform under game-like conditions.
With a clear focus on both product and people, New Balance’s Kickoff Event signals a more defined push into football—one that blends performance innovation with long-term athlete and community investment.
