The "Caged" New Balance 9060 Returns in A "Navy/Black" Update

While no longer the brand's marquee focus, the New Balance 9060 continues to deliver compelling styles for longtime and new fans alike. Its recent "caged" makeover has surfaced in "Navy/Black," delivering a sequel to the widely-celebrated pitch-dark pair from earlier this year.

Perhaps inspired by futuristic motorsports, the caged modification to the chunky silhouette brings a glossy plastic overlay to the upper, placing it around the heel, along the profiles, and atop the forefoot. The single piece element works in-tandem with fuse strips throughout the top-half of the shoe to inject a more modern look to the heritage-inspired design. N branding on the sides takes on a smoky blue finish that varies in opacity throughout the length of the plastic cage. The CR device on the heel indulges in a rich shade of blue.

Underfoot, the diamond-shaped tread brings some of the upper's flair to the otherwise pitch-"Black" outsole. The two-tone setup allows for the top-half's elements to revel in the spotlight.
