Princess Peach Might've Inspired the New Balance 9060 "Pink Taffy"

Despite corners of X recently seeing posts dedicated to criticism against the New Balance 9060, the silhouette continues to form an important part of the brand's product lineup. Ahead of summer, the chunky sneaker has launched in a "Pink Taffy" color scheme that evokes images of Nintendo's Princess Peach.

Far from an official collaboration with the storied Japanese institution, the latest take on the modern New Balance features a combination of soft pink, yellow, and blue across its heritage-inspired upper. Suede construction across the top-half resembles the dress worn by Mario's damsel, while profile N logos and other vibrant yellow elements bring her blond hair to sneaker-form. Lastly, the sky-reminiscent blue that lands on the top-of-the-tongue and around the heel boast a similar tone to the jewelry worn by the Mushroom Kingdom's princess.
