Nike Basketball's annual “Halo” tribute to Kobe Bryant continues with the confirmed return of the Nike Kobe 3 Protro in an all-white finish.
The Kobe 3 "Halo" comes dressed in a crisp white upper, showcasing its signature webbed midfoot cage and quilted foam shell. White-on-white detailing dominates the build—from the tongue and liner to the branding and sole—keeping in line with the celestial tone of previous “Halo” editions. Subtle hits of texture and structure elevate the simplicity, allowing the shoe’s silhouette to speak without distraction.
This marks the first retro return of the Kobe 3, making the release especially notable within the ongoing Protro series. It also signals Nike’s continued dedication to honoring Bryant’s legacy through carefully curated drops that blend performance heritage with commemorative storytelling. The hoops model has been reengineered for the modern game, opting for a full-length Zoom Strobel and Cushlon 3.0 midsole. Updates to the rubber traction pattern and a more breathable upper help create the Swoosh's most extensive Kobe Protro effort yet.

"We listened to wear-test feedback and made real updates. This is a smarter, sharper, better version of an already strong performer," shared Jeni Takekawa McDonald, Kobe Footwear Product Director.
The Nike Kobe 3 “Halo” Protro is set to release on Saturday, Aug. 23, to commemorate what would have been Bryant’s 47th birthday. The pair launches via the SNKRS platform and at select retailers. The launch coincides with the Mamba League Invitational, an elite youth basketball tournament in Los Angeles featuring roughly 70 young athletes who embody the Kobe mentality.
