Nike Basketball continues its run of Kevin Durant retros, with the Nike KD 6 "Texas" confirmed to return on December 1. Originally released during Durant’s early signature line run, the colorway quickly became one of the standout pairs from the KD 6 era thanks to its bold palette and ties to Durant’s collegiate roots as per SneakerMarketRomania and Brandon1an.
The Nike KD 6 debuted in 2013 as Durant’s sixth signature sneaker with Nike, designed to deliver lightweight performance and responsive cushioning for his versatile playing style. Built with a low-cut profile and a streamlined synthetic upper, the model was engineered for quick movements and scoring bursts that defined Durant’s game during his MVP-caliber seasons.
The returning Nike KD 6 "Texas" channels the colors of the University of Texas, where Durant played during the 2006–07 NCAA season before entering the NBA Draft. The sneaker features a predominantly black upper finished with scattered teal paint splatter across the surface. Bright orange accents hit the Swoosh, tongue, laces, and heel branding, while a large “KD” logo appears across the lateral heel.
Underfoot, the shoe is set to retain the KD 6’s signature tooling, including a visible Air unit in the heel for cushioning and impact protection on the court. The midsole continues the speckled theme, while translucent elements and additional orange hits round out the design.
The Nike KD 6 "Texas" remains one of the more recognizable colorways from Durant’s early signature lineup, reflecting both his collegiate past and the vibrant design language Nike Basketball embraced during the mid-2010s.
The Nike KD 6 "Texas" is scheduled to return on December 1 via Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com.
