When Peter Moore designed the Nike Dunk in 1985, he could hardly have imagined that the silhouette would become a canvas for contemporary craft and lifestyle expression four decades later. Initially built for college basketball courts, the Dunk Low has evolved far beyond its hardwood roots, and this new women's-exclusive “Sanddrift” colorway is proof of just how far it’s come.
This latest rendition is a departure from the bold color blocking and smooth leathers of the original “Be True To Your School” lineup. Instead, it opts for a refined, monochromatic approach that feels rooted in modern minimalism. A woven hemp-like textile forms the base, giving the upper a distinctly tactile quality. Tonal, tumbled leather overlays keep the look elevated, while matching woven tongues and stitched Swooshes continue the artisanal theme.
Underfoot, the design is finished with a two-tone tan rubber sole, keeping the palette soft and cohesive for summer styling. It’s a thoughtful update that reimagines the Dunk through a lifestyle lens, all while maintaining the silhouette’s unmistakable DNA.
The Nike Dunk Low “Sanddrift” is available now on Nike.com and at select retailers.
In other news from Nike, the Air Jordan 5 OG "Grape" is set to return this year.
