No Gradient Needed: The Air Max Plus Goes Minimal in Sky Blue and White
The Nike Air Max Plus has built its legacy on bold, chaotic gradients and deep black overlays — a look that defined the silhouette across decades. But now and then, Nike strips it back to basics. This upcoming release is an example of trading the model’s usual aggression for a fresh, simplified take just in time for late summer.
This new Air Max Plus arrives dressed in an all-over sky blue mesh upper, offering a light, airy look that contrasts sharply with the silhouette’s traditionally moody palettes. Crisp white overlays replace the usual black caging, reinforcing the breezy seasonal tone and creating a sleek, streamlined aesthetic.
At the midfoot, a metallic silver Swoosh adds a subtle flash, while its black trim serves as the bridge to the model’s classic black rubber outsole — the only nod to the silhouette’s typically darker roots. Matching black hits also appear at the tongue branding and heel, helping to ground the otherwise soft upper.
This Nike Air Max Plus will arrive in late summer or early fall via Nike.com and select retailers.
