Nike's Air Max Uptempo '95 'Black/Volt' Returns Holiday 2025
Another day, another retro Nike sneaker promised to return in its original glory.
It's no secret that much of the Swoosh conglomerate's business depends on reissuing products from the 40-year-old Air Jordan series, as well as unearthing archival gems from Nike Running, Tennis, ACG, and a bevy of other categories. The company's basketball-obsessed branch has long led the charge on the retro front, treating longtime and new fans alike to some of its most important and memorable footwear from the past, in the modern day. One such product is the Air Max Uptempo '95, which is in the midst of its 30th anniversary.
Famously worn by Scottie Pippen and other NBA icons from the 1990s, the silhouette captures the spirit of Nike Basketball during what many have considered its golden age. A robust, hard-to-get-into upper coupled with full-length visible Air units? The model was guaranteed to be a hit. And it was.
The last time the sneaker had a proper retro run was throughout 2019, when styles like the 'Black/Volt' option last released. According to Romania's Sneaker Market, the Air Max 95 'Neon' kin will return throughout the holiday season. The news follows a number of announcements regarding other colorways of the in your face design returning as part of its milestone anniversary celebration.
Enjoy official photos of the 'Black/Volt' retro below. Close inspection of the shoe reveals an identical build and presentation to 2019's version. Expect pairs to hit Nike.com and a wide assortment of retailers by December for $160.
For modern footwear from Nike Basketball, check out the G.T. Future, an all-new silhouette previewed by Wale that shares similarities to the Hyperflight II from the 2000s.
