Nike's Air Max 90 "Thunderstorm" Arrives with Elevated Uppers

Although the Nike Air Max 90 is in the midst of its 30th anniversary, Tinker Hatfield's iconic design has been overshadowed by other milestone achievements from underneath the Swoosh conglomerate's banner.

Ahead of summer, the popular Air Max offering has quietly amassed a compelling roster of styles, drawing inspiration from Japanese baseball teams, amongst other places. One such ensemble that's joined the celebration is a "Thunderstorm/Obsidian/Glacier Ice" makeover. On paper, the color scheme falls in line with autumnal finishes from Nike Sportswear, but even a quick glance at the Air Max 90 reveals an elevated presentation.

The sneaker's running-informed construction is replaced with what seems like a molded build. The mostly-seamless layout up-top features a dark shade of blue that includes a textured pattern all-throughout. Underfoot, the sole unit introduces some semblance of familiarity, with the bulk of the midsole and outsole combination favoring a pitch "Black" finish.
