Nike, Inc.'s internet-obsessed arm, .SWOOSH (read: "dotSWOOSH") is helping the Oregon-based conglomerate close out an experimental year with two ReactX Rejuven8 Slides. Both pairs are seemingly rooted in the idea of "touching grass."
According to a quick Google search, the phrase is "internet slang telling someone to disconnect from screens, get outdoors, and engage with the real world," often within the context of online drama. Whether or not those interested in either pair of the all-new slip-ons spend countless hours indoors, they can now "interact" with nature thanks to .SWOOSH.
The duo takes on "Kelly Green/Mosswood Brown/Vibrant Yellow" and "Wheat/Gum Dark Brown/Sail" color schemes. Each presentation references grass: the former features a soft, long-haired material that recreates grass for wearers, whereas the latter simply features printed uppers depicting unwatered grass. Both Rejuven8 Slides boast pixelated branding elements on the footbeds and arrive in special .SWOOSH-branded packaging.
Previous projects by the .SWOOSH team include an Air Maxes inspired by Donkey Kong and GoldenEye 007.
Enjoy official photos of the laceless releases ahead. The "Kelly Green" style is currently listed with a Friday, Dec. 19, launch on Nike SNKRS; the "Wheat" pair should follow suit.
