After making its debut with Action Bronson’s colorful introduction, the New Balance 1890 continues to build out its general-release run with three new colorways set to arrive on July 9.
The silhouette has quickly become one of New Balance’s more adventurous lifestyle runners, pulling from early-2000s performance language while leaning into the current appetite for heavily layered mesh builds, visible tech, and outdoor-leaning details. Its shape sits somewhere between an archive runner and a modern trail experiment, aided by toggle lacing, sculpted overlays, and visible ABZORB cushioning underfoot.
This latest drop brings three very different moods. “Streamsong” is the loudest of the trio, pairing deep blue mesh with bright yellow-green overlays, orange lining, gum traction, and pops of brown through the sole unit. “Nordic Green” keeps things more tonal, working through olive, forest green, and lime accents for a mossy outdoor look. The third pair, “Pumpernickel,” feels the most wearable, mixing cream mesh, black forefoot overlays, brown suede, olive laces, and muted green tech hits.
Each pair highlights a different side of the New Balance 1890. The bright “Streamsong” colorway feels closest to the model’s Action Bronson energy, while “Nordic Green” and “Pumpernickel” push the silhouette toward a more trail-ready, earth-toned lane.
The three new New Balance 1890 colorways are expected to release on July 9 via NewBalance.com and select retailers.
