First-Look: Concepts x New Balance 990v4 "Patina" Collab
Boston-based boutique CONCEPTS (CNCPTS) has been relatively quiet on the collaborative front over the last 18 months, but the storied team is ready to leave its mark on the New Balance 990v4's 10th anniversary.
Thanks to sneaker photographer extraordinaire Tyler Mansour (@arab_lincoln on Instgram), the world now has a first-look at the "Patina" 990v4 by CONCEPTS. Seemingly inspired by old travel trunks like those famously made by Louis Vuitton throughout its early history, the Made in USA sneaker sees different shades of brown and green across its premium build.
It's unclear whether or not the high-quality pig suede and perforated leather that appears across the pair's upper reveals an "aged" look with wear—Deon Point and team might've simply utilized dark and light shades of brown to recreate a "patinaed" aesthetic.
A co-branded hangtag and custom shoe box nod to the project's travel trunk concept; both components see similar brown tones to those utilized across the NB 990v4.
According to Mansour, the latest collab between CONCEPTS and New Balance is "coming soon."
