Jordan Brand is taking a different approach to select retro launches this year, starting with the return of the Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo” on May 30.
Rather than limiting the release to a standard online or in-store drop, Jordan Brand is building community-focused launch experiences around the sneaker in key cities, including New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. The concept is designed to create more memorable release moments around major retros, with similar activations expected to continue throughout the year.
In New York, Jordan Brand will team up with JD Sports in the Bronx for a dedicated “Toro Bravo” launch experience at Bay Plaza from 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturday. The event will include customized tees, food, beverages, and music. A limited NYC-exclusive collectible will also be available to early attendees who purchase the Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo” at JD Sports Bay Plaza. Jordan Brand says future NYC-exclusive collectibles will be part of this ongoing series tied to select retro launches.
In Los Angeles, Jordan Brand is partnering with Shoe Palace in Little Tokyo from 7:30 AM to 2 PM. The launch experience will include food, trivia with surprise offerings, and in-line moments with the SneakyLeak Pod, tying the release into LA’s long-standing sneaker culture.
Atlanta will also get its own activation, with Jordan Brand working alongside DTLR from 10 AM to 3 PM. The event will feature local food, live music, and tee customization, giving the “Toro Bravo” release a community-driven rollout in the city.
The Air Jordan 4 “Toro Bravo” releases May 30, kicking off Jordan Brand’s new approach to select retro drops through city-specific launch experiences and local retail partners.
