The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently sitting in first place in the National League West. Although it's still too early to tell whether Shohei Ohtani and company will win a third consecutive MLB World Series, they're already winning off-the-baseball-diamond thanks to a collaboration with UNDEFEATED and Converse.
Rooted in the history of the Dodgers organization, the three-way link-up previously launched a pair co-signed by Futura in honor of the baseball franchise's origins in Brooklyn. Now, UNDEFEATED has tapped Yoshinobu Yamamoto (山本由伸), pitcher for the Dodgers, to commemorate the team's importance within the "City of Angels."
A Chuck 70 High has been put together with a faux ostrich leather upper for an aesthetic that elevates the standard canvas build. The material is clad in a rich "Dodger Blue" color scheme that goes well with an "LA" cap or Dodgers Nike jersey. Relevant motifs and co-branding elements appear throughout the project, ensuring spectators that don't follow baseball or streetwear know exactly what the collaboration is all about.
The Dodgers' Chuck 70 by UNDEFEATED releases on Saturday, April 25, at 11 a.m. local time at UNDEFEATED Silver Lake, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and New York; an 8 a.m. PDT launch takes place through Undefeated.com. The pair arrives to Nike SNKRS on Tuesday, April 28, for 125.
