Even if the New York Knicks don't win the 2026 NBA Finals, OG Anunoby has already made history by becoming the first player to lace up Skechers sneakers in the Finals.
Ahead of Game 3 of the series, which will take place in Madison Square Garden on Monday, June 8, the expert in comfort has revealed Anunoby's on-court kicks: a special-edition Skechers SKX Reign inspired by Timberland® boots.
Initially reported by Sneaker News, the Player-Exclusive basketball shoe is officially dubbed "Foreman" as a general nod to the work boots worn across construction sites in New York City. The pair's wheat color scheme, however, is firmly linked to the city's culture-at-large, with the Timberland® Premium 6-Inch Waterproof Boot done in the same look being the center of endless memes. Beyond a playful nod to NYC culture, however, the commemorative Skechers Basketball shoe is rooted in Knicks tradition.

The Knicks organization has been giving out "Defensive Player of the Game" awards to one player after each game all season long. The reward consists of a pair of Timbs with the D.P.O.G. abbreviation stamped on the profiles, and a Knicks-branded safety vest and hard hat. Anunoby was famously captured as the "Defensive Player" following the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup, a game in which the Knickerbockers beat the San Antonio Spurs.
Fast-forward six months, Anunoby and the rest of Mike Brown's men are facing Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs once more, only the stakes are higher.
Anunoby, who signed with Skechers in July 2025, will wear the "Foreman" SKX Reign in Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals. If he and his teammates win the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, Skechers Basketball will become an NBA title-winning brand in just under three years.
All thanks to Anunoby, who was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team for the 2025-26 season.
