Saucony Reinvents the ProGrid Omni 9 With a Rugged "Armor" Edition for 2025

The rise of gorpcore-inspired footwear continues to gain momentum, with brands across the industry adapting utilitarian, outdoor-ready elements to their classic silhouettes. Saucony is taking a bold new approach with the Progrid Omni 9 Armor—an ultra-durable rework of its established runner set to arrive in Spring 2025.

First introduced through a collaboration with French boutique Starcow, the Progrid Omni 9 Armor has now surfaced in a lineup of general release colorways, expanding its reach beyond limited-edition drops. While the underlying Omni 9 structure remains intact, the material makeup has been completely overhauled. Instead of traditional leather overlays, reinforced TPU panels give the sneaker a sleek, armored appearance. At the same time, the base layer features a tight-knit, more durable mesh—enhancing aesthetics and function.

The Omni 9 Armor is currently available in monotone black, grey, and olive variations on Saucony.com, with the sand and brown styles expected to follow soon.
