Nike Finally Teases One Piece x .SWOOSH "Romance Dawn" Collab in Tokyo
Nike's .SWOOSH (read: dotSWOOSH) team has finally taken to social media to confirm the long-anticipated collaboration with One Piece.
The internet culture and video game-obsessed cohort has tapped Nike Tokyo to set up an orange Swoosh-branded cube inspired by the Road Poneglyph monoliths seen throughout One Piece. Initial reports of the crossover project shared that footwear product would reference the supernatural Devil Fruits seen in the beloved manga series, and it seems .SWOOSH's cube partly-confirms this.
The Road Poneglyph-like structure (which has been installed in Tokyo's Harajuku district) features an ancient-inspired text on its facade. Select symbols are highlighted in white, coming together to form a large Swoosh. After asking Google Gemini if it could decipher a hidden message in the image, it seems that the illuminated text translates into, "I have arrived here and am leading Nike to 5656." This is apparently a Japanese numerical play on words known as (goroawase, 語呂合わせ). 5656, then, can be understood as, "Go" (5) and "Mu" (6) to spell out "Gomu Gomu." If you're a One Piece fan, you'll catch the direct reference to Monkey D. Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi —or Gum-Gum Devil Fruit.

Following the widely-successful Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Air Max 95 collaboration, it seems the Swoosh conglomerate isn't ready to say goodbye to the world of Japanese animated series.
According to Sole Retriever, a multi-item One Piece capsule from Nike Sportswear is in the works. The collection is expected to launch during the Fall 2026 season as part of the brand's lineup of products between August and October.
The One Piece project reportedly includes hats, graphic t-shirts, and jerseys inspired by the supernatural Devil Fruits that give anyone who eats them the magical powers. Sneaker Files has reported that three pairs of the Air Max Plus will release alongside the matching apparel collection.
