Nike has taken the Zoom Vomero 5 in plenty of directions over the past few years, but its latest women's-exclusive release might be one of the model's more unconventional looks yet.
Dubbed “Soft Girl Grunge,” the upcoming colorway draws on early-2000s emo fashion, mixing soft pink accents with darker materials, metallic hardware, and deliberately rough edges.
The familiar Vomero 5 construction remains, though several of its defining details have been reworked. Black fishnet-style mesh forms the base, while pink leather overlays feature sharper, almost torn-looking edges in place of the runner's usual smooth paneling. Small metallic studs punctuate the overlays, adding another nod to punk-inspired fashion.
The changes continue through the lacing system, where wide, semi-sheer black ruffle laces replace the standard athletic setup. Burnished leather, glossy black paneling, and a chrome-finished Swoosh bring the different textures together, while the blacked-out Cushlon midsole keeps the overall palette grounded.

Even the finer details have been considered, from the metallic mini Swooshes at the toe and heel to the scalloped shape of the pink rear overlays. There's plenty going on here, and that's the point. Nike has taken one of its most familiar retro runners and given it a personality far removed from its original performance roots.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Soft Girl Grunge” is now available on Nike.com for $170 USD.
