Keely Hodgkinson Wins ATHLOS 800m in Nike’s One-of-One Speed Suit

Nike has unveiled a one-of-one speed suit built specifically for Keely Hodgkinson, and the middle-distance star has already put it to work on the track.

Hodgkinson wore the bespoke setup in London as she won the ATHLOS 800m in 1:56.40, pairing the custom suit with her Nike Victory 2 spikes.

Built in close partnership with Hodgkinson, the full-body suit combines athlete feedback, sport-science research and advanced product development around the demands of the 800-meter. Its open-back, full-length and hooded construction is designed to reduce aerodynamic drag while still allowing Hodgkinson to move freely throughout the race.

Nike kept seams to a minimum and removed traditional closures altogether, while features including an articulated knee, 4D mobility gusset and larger openings around the back and underarms help with movement and thermoregulation. The suit was handcrafted largely inside Nike’s LeBron James Innovation Center.

Perhaps its most unusual detail is a series of 3D-printed vortex generators positioned across the suit. The small, computationally tuned structures are designed to manipulate airflow around Hodgkinson’s body and reduce the wake that contributes to aerodynamic drag.

The blacked-out look also carries several details tailored specifically to Hodgkinson, including a ponytail opening and Nike Vision Airelon Force E sunglasses.

Alongside the one-off race suit, Hodgkinson’s wider Nike Running collection is available now, extending the same black-and-gold aesthetic across the Nike Vaporfly 4, Pegasus 42, Vomero Plus and Victory 2.

Nike is also continuing to develop its middle-distance racing platform beyond the Victory 2. The brand has introduced the Victory Elite, which builds on the spike with a full-length carbon-fiber plate, a taller forefoot Air Zoom unit, titanium pins and a lightweight upper.
