Over the last decade, the COMME des GARÇONS empire has helped Nike, Inc. reintroduce silhouettes to market. As proven tastemakers across all of its work, the Rei Kawakubo-founded conglomerate continues to forecast trends, seemingly urging its partners to follow its lead. The most recent example has been with 2008's Air Rejuven8 silhouette.
Developed as a recovery shoe in the lead up to the '08 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the Nike Air Rejuven8 had been years in ideation prior to its release to the public. Inspired by the visual of a 7-year-old placing a pear's protective net around his foot, the sleek design will form part of the brand's Spring 2026 offerings—taking particular interest in the Women's market.
Different color schemes of the lightweight, Nike Free-assisted model were showcases through the SNKRS platform months prior, showcasing some of what the Oregon-based company has in the works. Part of the lineage set forward by the likes of the Air Huarache (1991), Air Kukini (2000), Zvezdochka (2004), and Sock Dart (2004), the Air Rejuven8 will soon offer consumers a more traditional footwear style when compared to laceless styles like the ReactX Rejuven8.
Stay tuned for handfuls of Air Rejuven8 ensembles to surface over the next year. "Metallic Silver/Voltage Green" and "Black/Sail" pairs pictured ahead are just two of the pairs set to drop via Nike.com.
The Nike Air Rejuven8 "Silver/Voltage Green" is set to release on December 9, 2025.
