Nike Sportswear's treatment of the Air Force 1 was supposed to slow down, according to the company's CEO, but that's yet to be seen. Ahead of 2026, Bruce Kilgore's beloved design has emerged in dozens of more makeovers, suggesting the model will form an important part of the brand's new year.
Recently, two pairs have surfaced, adding to the growing list of ensembles to take on Kilgore's 42-year-old design. The latest duo sees navy-and-grey, as well as black-and-red, finishes that align with the greater Air Force 1 Low catalog. What's different about the impending pairs, however, is the mismatched heel panels across both options. The difference in medial swoosh and heel panel creates an asymmetrical presentation when compared to their lateral counterparts.
Elsewhere, branding on the tongue label and footbed differs from typical logos. It's possible the Sportswear staple draws inspiration from athletic apparel tags from yesteryear for its reworked logos.
