Nike Revives the Air Flight Falcon More Than a Decade Later

Nike is reaching back into its early-2010s basketball archive for the return of the Air Flight Falcon, with “Black/Metallic Silver” and “White/Cool Grey” colorways expected to arrive overseas during Holiday 2026.
The Air Flight Falcon first appeared in 2010, but its design was intentionally rooted much further back. The model borrowed heavily from Nike Basketball’s late-’80s and early-’90s language, combining elements associated with the Air Flight ’89 and Air Jordan 4 into what was essentially a new sneaker built to look like it had already been sitting in the archive for years.
That influence is easy to spot. The Falcon features a mid-cut build, perforated leather panels, extended eyelet structures around the ankle and visible heel Air, while its layered upper and sculpted tooling give it the chunky stance that defined Nike basketball footwear from that era. The old-school Flight branding on the tongue further pushed the retro-inspired approach.
The shoe also had some genuine on-court visibility during its original run. Gilbert Arenas wore the Air Flight Falcon during the 2010-11 NBA season, including a White/Grey/Blue pair against his former Washington Wizards teammates in February 2011. At the time, the Falcon was still described as one of Nike’s newer basketball silhouettes despite its intentionally vintage appearance.
Nike continued pushing the model through the following seasons with a wide range of colorways. By 2012, it had even been folded into Nike Basketball’s Volt Pack, giving the black nubuck silhouette bright Volt and white accents.
For its 2026 comeback, Nike is beginning with two restrained looks. The “Black/Metallic Silver” revisits a colorway that originally released in June 2010, dressing the shoe almost entirely in black with Metallic Silver accents breaking up the Swoosh and hardware.
The “White/Cool Grey” pair flips the palette with a white leather base, grey panels and black detailing through the tooling and upper. Earlier versions of the Falcon also appeared in White/Cool Grey-based makeups during its original run, keeping the new release closely connected to the model’s early identity.
More than a decade removed from the Falcon’s original run, its return fits neatly into Nike’s renewed interest in lesser-seen basketball models from the archive rather than focusing only on the usual signature retros.
Both Nike Air Flight Falcon colorways are expected to release overseas during Holiday 2026. U.S. release details remain TBC, while retail pricing is expected to land at roughly $100.
