SHOP NIKE KOBE RELEASES ON KICKS CREW
The Nike Basketball Family is expected to launch a special collection dubbed "Mamba Vs. Diamondback" in partnership with the Kobe Bryant Estate come February 2027. The project is inspired by the late NBA champion's "Black Mamba" alter ego and the snake native to Arizona, the site of the 2027 All-Star Weekend.
The news arrives by way of Sneaker News and follows an expansive roster of product from the Swoosh dedicated to the life and legacy of the Los Angeles Lakers legend.
According to the initial report, the Nike Kobe "Mamba Vs. Diamondback" Pack consists of at least four different footwear styles—including the Kobe 5 Protro, Air Force 1 Protro, Dunk Low Protro, and Kobe A.D. Protro. An overall aesthetic for the range is uncertain as of writing, but it's likely Nike designers will reference snakeskin, as well as Lakers and Phoenix Suns colors throughout items.
A thorough backstory to the snake-inspired capsule is sure to surface as the 2027 NBA All-Star Weekend (Feb. 18–21) inches closer, but it's important to note that during his professional basketball career, Bryant participated in numerous fierce Playoffs matchups against the Suns—perhaps most famously the 2010 Western Conference Finals.
