"Be Legendary" are the two words Kobe Bryant signed on a pair of the Nike Kobe 4 basketball shoe worn by Devin Booker in 2016. Now, those words and the sneaker's color scheme have inspired a special-edition Nike Book 2.
The Phoenix Suns guard debuted the "Bright Violet/Black/Wolf Grey"-colored pair in late-March. The design pays homage to the aforementioned Nike Kobe sneaker famously worn by Booker during Bryant's final NBA season, as well as for his appearance on the cover of NBA 2K23. Akin to the popular Performance Retro, the forthcoming Nike Book offering features shades of purple across its upper, pitch-dark profile Swooshes, and a grey speckled midsole.
It's important to note that the version debuted by Booker during the 2025-26 NBA season differs from the Book 2's retail version: construction across the upper features a mesh layer around the tongue. Additionally, pairs prepped for public launch don't include "Be Legendary" text on the lateral forefoot. Wearers, however, can write the message themselves, touching on Bryant's legacy in the process.
Enjoy e-commerce shots of the "Bright Violet"-colored basketball shoe ahead. Pairs are expected to release via Nike.com and a wide array of international retailers on Friday, Nov. 20, for $155.
