Air Jordan 4 “Jackie Robinson” Releases on Jackie Robinson Day 2027

Jordan Brand is preparing a special Air Jordan 4 OG “Jackie Robinson” for 2027, with the release scheduled to land on April 15 — Jackie Robinson Day.

The release will honor the 80th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier. On April 15, 1947, Robinson made his debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African American player in the modern era of MLB. Starting at first base and batting second, Robinson scored a run as Brooklyn defeated the Boston Braves 5-3.

The pair is part of a wider tribute to the baseball icon and marks a retail project with the Jackie Robinson estate. While Jordan Brand has produced Jackie Robinson-themed player exclusives in the past, the upcoming release will bring his story to consumers through one of the brand’s most popular silhouettes.

Dressed in an official Sail/Multi-Color/Multi-Color/Multi-Color color scheme, the design draws from Robinson’s Brooklyn Dodgers era. Sail covers much of the upper, while blue accents appear across the eyelets, midsole, and branding. Cement-style detailing lands on the wings and portions of the midsole, with red providing another hit of color through the Jumpman branding.

The Jackie Robinson references continue throughout the shoe. The heels are expected to feature Nike Air branding alongside Robinson’s No. 42, while “Robinson” appears behind the tongue. An Air Jordan 4 MCS cleat honoring Robinson is also expected to release as part of Jordan Brand’s 2027 tribute.

The Air Jordan 4 OG “Jackie Robinson” releases April 15, 2027, for $230 and is expected to arrive in full-family sizing.
