Workwear aesthetics continue to dominate fashion in 2026. What started as a niche appreciation for rugged canvas jackets, utility pants, and vintage carpenter styling has now filtered its way through everything from streetwear labels to luxury fashion houses — and Jordan Brand is the latest to lean into the movement with the upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG “Khaki.”

And while Nike and Jordan Brand are often responsible for setting the tone across the industry, this latest release feels more like an acknowledgment of the growing influence that labels like Carhartt and broader blue-collar Americana styling have had on fashion over the past few years.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Khaki” channels that aesthetic directly through both its materials and color palette. Soft khaki suede overlays wrap the sneaker from heel to toe, paired against a cream leather base that immediately recalls vintage workwear uniforms and worn canvas jackets. Olive textile Swooshes introduce another layer of utility-inspired detailing, while hits of brown and burnt orange around the collar subtly reinforce the earthy palette.

Even the construction feels intentionally rugged. The mix of suede, canvas, leather, and heavy-duty textiles gives the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Khaki” a noticeably more utilitarian feel than traditional retro releases, almost as if the silhouette was designed with workshop floors and warehouse uniforms in mind rather than hardwood courts.

The strongest nod to classic workwear, however, comes in the form of the included embroidered patch accessory. Styled almost identically to vintage employee uniform tags, the patch reads “The Air Jordan Shop” in stitched lettering, pushing the workwear inspiration from subtle influence into full thematic execution.

Underfoot, the sneaker keeps things classic with a sail midsole and matching khaki rubber outsole, rounding out the aged-in aesthetic without overcomplicating the design.

While the buzz may be centered around the Air Jordan 1 Low—with recent headline drops like the “Chicago” and “Banned,” plus high-profile collaborations with Fragment and Travis Scott—there’s still a place for the Air Jordan 1 High OG to shine in its own right.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Khaki” releases on May 23 in women’s and kids' sizing via Nike and select retailers.
