Beginning July 7, 2026, Noto Satoyama Airport in Japan’s Ishikawa Prefecture will temporarily relaunch as “Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport,” becoming the first airport in the world to officially carry Pokémon branding. The project arrives as part of a partnership between Ishikawa Prefecture and the Pokémon With You Foundation, with the initiative designed to help support tourism and regional recovery efforts following the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.

This special, limited-time rebranding is scheduled to remain in place through Sunday, September 30, 2029, transforming much of the airport into a Pokémon-focused destination. Throughout the terminal, visitors will find Pokémon-themed artwork, installations, and character displays centered around Flying-type Pokémon.

A large Pikachu-and-airplane balloon installation will anchor the airport’s central atrium, while all 111 Flying-type Pokémon discovered as of May 2026 are expected to appear throughout the facility in various forms. Additional themed areas will include illustrated walls, Pokémon travel displays, and “Pikachu’s Village,” a rooftop observation area inspired by the satoyama landscapes surrounding the airport.

The airport will also feature exclusive short films viewable by smartphone while inside the terminal. One highlighted story, “Fly, Bagon!,” ties directly into an in-airport display featuring Bagon looking toward Salamence in flight.

Elsewhere, Pokémon-themed food, merchandise, and transportation will extend the experience beyond the airport itself. Restaurant Annon is expected to serve themed menu items, while exclusive airport merchandise will be available through the terminal gift shop. Pokémon-themed buses are also set to begin operating across the Noto Peninsula later this summer, connecting visitors to additional attractions throughout the region.

The project also coincides with Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations, using one of Japan’s most recognizable franchises to help bring renewed tourism and attention back to the Noto area following the earthquake recovery efforts.

The Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport officially opens on July 7, 2026, in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
