Zinedine Zidane's Special Adidas Predator Precision from 2000 Returns for Made in Germany Series

France's Zinedine Zidane may no longer be at the forefront of the beautiful game, but his legacy continues being celebrated by his Adidas Football family. Ahead of summer, the Three Stripes has unveiled a reissue of Zizou's special Predator Precision from 2000.

Officially clad in a "Gold Metallic/Core Black/Collegiate Red" color scheme, the boot originally launched as an exclusive pair for the Frenchman to commemorate his FIFA World Player of the Year award (now FIFA Best). Zidane eventually wore the eye-catching Predator Precision in a friendly against Germany on Feb. 27, 2001.

Despite its identical color palette and blocking, the Adidas Predator reissue features a number of differences from the original.

For starters, the impending bring-back boasts Made in Germany text on the fold-over tongue, denoting the boot as part of the Three Stripes' ongoing series that produces limited, elevated takes in its home country. The World Player 2000 messaging found on the lateral heel 25 years ago is moved onto the insole. (It's important to note that official e-commerce photography from Adidas depicts the football boot with different elements—namely a change to the color of Made in Germany text and messaging on the insole. All images shared ahead, however, live under the IH0944 style code.)

When lifted, each fold-over tongue depicts Zizou about to strike the ball; the graphic indulges in a shimmering golden finish that matches the bulk of the upper.

As with other retros of football boots from the past, the commemorative Predator Precision sits atop the modern CONTROLFRAME 2.0 sole plate. The same tooling setup is found on the Predator 25 worn by the likes of Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham.
