If you've been following the work of Alex Sandler and Alex Leon—co-founders of Hermanos Koumori—you'll know their recent Adidas Running collection has been a long time coming.
Over the past few years, the Mexico City-based entrepreneurs have cultivated running culture in Mexico's capital, hosting Saturday morning runs and organizing cheer zones at some of the city's most important races. The latest capsule—which includes apparel and two makeovers of the UltraBOOST 5—isn't their first; Hermanos Koumori previously worked on a Z.N.E. Jacket and other gear for the sport its co-founders have championed for the better part of the last decade. The most recent capsule, however, sees the brand's partnership with Adidas go global.
According to official messaging from the imprint, the headlining UltraBOOST 5 draws inspiration from the Monte Alto Natural Reserve in the State of Mexico. Sandler and Leon hand-picked natural elements from the area—including leaves—and reinterpreted them into footwear form. The result is a duo of the award-winning daily trainer in an earthy color palette.
Additionally, Hermanos Koumori's collaboration sees the LIGHTBOOST-cushioned silhouette enjoy a reworked mesh-and-textile upper. Typical lacing has also been replaced with a trail-inspired setup perfect for off-road excursions.
Enjoy campaign photography of the collection ahead. All items are currently available via Adidas.com. Pricing ranges from $55 (Women's Crop Top) to $190 (UltraBOOST 5).
