Following the raging success of the Leopard Print Samba Pack, Adidas is once again leaning into animal-inspired textures. This time, the Three Stripes reimagines Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s signature silhouette, wrapping the Jabbar Hi in faux cowhide for a dramatic shift from its retro basketball origins to a lifestyle-focused aesthetic.
The sneaker completely moves away from its on-court roots, embracing the growing Americana Core trend that has been gaining momentum in the fashion world. The faux cowhide upper brings an unexpected ruggedness to the design, making it a natural fit for current wardrobes. Additional design details include a brown leather Adidas Jabbar logo on the tongue, clean white Three Stripes, and a pre-faded Trefoil logo on the heel, all sitting atop a light brown gum sole.
The release of the cowhide Jabbar Hi aligns with a broader resurgence of Kareem’s signature shoe, which has already returned in its original white and blue colorway, alongside collaborations with atmos and Footpatrol. The model has also gained attention from Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo, who teased a premium edition back in December 2024.
A release date for this bold new iteration has yet to be confirmed, but expect an official announcement from Adidas soon.
