The Adidas Fear Of God Athletics Basketball II "Night Brown" Collection Releases On December 6

Adidas and Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God Athletics have teamed up once again to present the highly anticipated Fear of God Athletics II Basketball. This new release marks an evolution of the Athletics line, blending performance with elevated design, and represents the brand’s first true athletic shoe, aimed at delivering both function and aesthetic.

The Fear of God Athletics II Basketball offers a major improvement over its predecessor, addressing the critiques that the original lacked modern performance technology. The II Basketball is engineered for responsive support, with a lightweight Lightstrike midsole crafted from foam to ensure comfort and agility on the court. Additionally, a TPU shank provides dynamic propulsion, and the durable rubber outsole guarantees multidirectional traction.

The luxurious suede upper is a signature touch from Fear of God, adding a refined style to this performance-driven sneaker. As Jerry Lorenzo himself states, “This is Fear of God’s first true athletic shoe. Designed with performance and function as the number one priority, and delivering on shape and aesthetic, this is truly a promise realized.”

The "Night Brown" colorway, which draws inspiration from warm, earthy tones, is available in both Low and High versions. The low-top features abstract striping on the upper, paired with a cream-colored outsole, while the high-top iteration is designed with an ankle strap for extra lockdown support. Both versions feature Fear of God branding on the sole, as well as a multi-directional traction pattern on the outsole for enhanced grip during fast-paced play.

To support the launch of the II Basketball, adidas athlete Derrick Rose, a fellow Chicago native, stars in a campaign captured by photographer Nadav Kander. Rose’s involvement reflects his legacy in the sport and his connection to the brand’s ongoing influence in basketball culture.

The Fear of God Athletics II Basketball will retail for $180 (Low) and $200 (High), and will be available starting December 6th, 2024, at adidas.com, the adidas CONFIRMED app, Fearofgod.com, and select global retailers including Foot Locker, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and JD Sports. The release will make the II Basketball accessible to a new generation of athletes, further solidifying Fear of God Athletics’ growing presence in the basketball world.
