Westside Gunn’s relationship with Saucony appears to be moving into louder territory, with the Buffalo rapper surfacing a new multi-color animal-print pair that feels every bit aligned with his maximalist approach to style.
The new Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9 appears to build on the same retro runner that first surfaced as part of his Saucony partnership in 2025. That earlier pair, shown in a tonal red finish with reptile-textured panels and scorpion branding, never saw a public release, leaving fans of the Griselda founder waiting to see when his Saucony era would officially hit shelves. Now, a new version has appeared on foot, and it pushes the concept in a far more expressive direction.
Seen here in new images shared by Westside Gunn, the pair swaps the red-heavy look for a busy mix of animal-inspired prints and bright color hits. Brown and tan overlays work across the upper alongside zebra-like black-and-white striping, while sharp pops of pink, blue, purple, and orange break through the panels. The result feels closer to a wearable art piece than a conventional retro runner, matching Gunn’s long-running love for bold fashion, wrestling aesthetics, high-end streetwear, and graphic-heavy design.
The Saucony Grid Jazz 9 itself gives the collaboration a strong base, with its layered late-’90s running shape offering plenty of room for texture and pattern. This version leans into that space heavily, using the upper almost like a canvas. White laces and a light midsole help separate the louder upper from the rest of the shoe, while the overall arrangement keeps the pair grounded enough to remain wearable despite its chaotic mix of materials and colors.
At this stage, release details remain unclear. Given that Westside Gunn’s previous Saucony project from 2025 never made it to retail, there is no guarantee that this multi-color animal-print pair will release either.
