Boston-based Brain Child™ is stepping into footwear with its first-ever sneaker collaboration, teaming up with Reebok for a limited take on the DMX Series 3000. The Brain Child™ x Reebok DMX Series 3000 “Red Nebula” marks a milestone for the label, translating its design language into a performance-rooted silhouette for the first time.

The Brain Child™ x Reebok DMX Series 3000 “Red Nebula” features a space-inspired gradient upper that shifts from deep purple to bright orange, giving the pair its nebula theme. The build stays consistent with the DMX Series 3000, pairing layered materials with the model’s signature DMX cushioning system. The result is a familiar structure, updated with a more expressive finish tied to Brain Child’s visual identity.

The release is limited to just 150 pairs, reinforcing the project’s small-scale, community-focused approach. Rather than a traditional retail rollout, the Brain Child™ x Reebok DMX Series 3000 “Red Nebula” will launch exclusively at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design on May 8, tying directly back to the brand’s origins.

MassArt plays a central role in the story. Founder Doug Ansine studied industrial design at the school, an experience that helped shape both Brain Child and the concept behind this collaboration. The launch event will take place inside the MassArt DMC building and will include a panel discussion with students and creatives, focusing on the future of footwear collaboration and opportunities for emerging designers.

The Brain Child™ x Reebok DMX Series 3000 “Red Nebula” releases May 8 exclusively at MassArt, closing the loop on a project rooted in the community that helped build the brand.
