Chicago White Sox's Munetaka Murakami Gets a 1-of-1 Air Jordan 11 P.E.

The iconic Air Jordan 11 continues to appear in special makeovers. Although much attention is being paid to the "Space Jam" and "Monstars" retros launching to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Space Jam film, Jordan Brand athletes like the Chicago White Sox's Munetaka Murakami (村上宗隆) have also given something to talk about with regards to the tuxedo-inspired basketball shoe.

Recently, the first baseman was spotted wearing a turf edition of the modified-for-the-baseball-diamond Air Jordan 11 Player-Exclusive (P.E.) that he wore during the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby. The pair, captured by Christopher Henderson (@seehendo on Instagram) features a red adobe-reminiscent upper. The premium suede/nubuck update is accompanied by a mudguard that abandons its typical glossy patent leather finish in favor of a printed execution that depicts an ornate mosaic pattern. Hundreds of terrazzo stone, polished granite, and crushed mineral-like shards wrap around the baseball turf cleat, bringing more reddish Earth tones into the mix.

Underfoot, Murakami's reworked Air Jordan 11 features a semi-translucent outsole that has a visible Zoom Air unit at the heel.

Jordan Brand, which announced it had signed the Japanese athlete on July 13, is wasting no time treating him to special pairs.

Murakami's P.E. is not likely to ever release via Nike.com/Jordan, but Team Jumpman is sure to continue releasing basketball-shoes-turned-baseball-cleats given Michael Jordan's longtime affinity for the sport.
