In life, Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan had a relationship. The admiration between both MJs was captured on-screen for the "Jam" music video, but it seems Team Jumpman and the "King of Pop" maintained a partnership years after that 1992 project.
Thanks to @sunsetsnkrs on Instagram, the world now has a detailed look at a unique "Glitter Glove" Air Jordan 4 once made for Mr. Jackson by Jordan Brand. One-of-one, the unreleased retro draws inspiration from the bedazzled glove the Gary, Indiana-native famously wore throughout the years.
The appearance of the shimmering Air Jordan is particularly special because it coincides with the box office hit that has been Michael, directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan. Furthermore, Jackson's glitter glove has been a topic of conversation thanks to the album cover of Drake's ICEMAN, which sees the Canadian artist's hand wearing a purported glove from Jackson's collection.
The retro features chrome details and a rainbow-colored "AIR JORDAN" message on the tongue's underside. And while special, these details pale in comparison to how captivating the ornate upper dances when the light hits it.
There's no chance Michael Jackson's sneaker ever hits Nike.com/Jordan, but public interest in the one-of-one design could lead Team Jumpman to release a similar retro at some point.
