The adidas Archive has been leading the charge for the brand's most recent global success, unearthing several sports-oriented styles throughout the last five years. One such silhouette that's seen an explosion in popularity is the Taekwondo, a thin-soled design rooted in martial arts.
Popular amongst and marketed towards women, the adidas Taekwondo has lived many lives since its debut in the late 1980s. Its Mei version has been reworked by the likes of Bad Bunny through his Ballerina collaboration, but the most commonly-seen editions have been inline models. The Lace features a beefed-up the upper, while the all-new Elite-variant brings yet another set of tweaks that still falls in line with It girl trends.
Introduced to market via partnership with Miaou, the Taekwondo Mei Elite sees a more robust sole unit, which is reminiscent of the ClimaCool 2's shape. The upper boasts a series of layers that couples sleek lines with ample ventilation. The result is heritage-inspired take that still feels refreshing.
The women's Taekwondo Mei Elite is expected to see its global debut throughout spring. Keep your eyes on adidas.com for launches. A "Sand Pink" style is expected alongside other ensembles.
