    Samuel L. Jackson Narrates as Icons Redefine What It Means to Be Original

    adidas Originals is reigniting its “The Original” campaign with a bold new chapter spotlighting the enduring legacy of the adidas Superstar. Titled “Superstar: The Original,” the global campaign draws a direct line from the sneaker’s roots in basketball to its deep impact on streetwear, music, and cultural expression over decades.

    Directed by renowned filmmaker Thibaut Grevet, the high-contrast black-and-white visuals set a dramatic tone, transforming the Superstar into a living stage for originality. Narrated by legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson, the film connects timeless achievement—likened to the construction of pyramids—to the lasting influence of the Superstar silhouette. The follow-up chapter, “Clocks,” brings together the campaign’s full cast in a unified statement about cultural evolution.

    The star-studded cast includes trailblazers from across generations and disciplines: music icon Missy Elliott, K-pop global superstar JENNIE, NBA phenom Anthony Edwards, skateboarding legend Mark Gonzales, multi-platinum rapper GloRilla, genre-defying artist Teezo Touchdown, and model-actress Gabbriette. Together, they embody the campaign’s core message: originality is about shaping culture, not following it.

    At the center of the campaign is the Superstar II, revived in two classic colorways with added padding in the collar and tongue. The reissue pays homage to its popularity in the late ’90s creative scenes, where artists, musicians, and skaters adopted it as their symbol of self-expression. It’s joined by the timeless Firebird Tracksuit, a staple since 1967 and still a fixture in style and music circles today.
