Adidas Goes Full Slasher on the Dame 9 “Halloween”

As the leaves change and the nights grow longer, the Halloween spirit seeps into everything—including the sneaker world. Each October, brands unleash themed kicks that capture the essence of the spooky season, and this year, Damian Lillard joins the fray with his latest offering: the Adidas Dame 9 "Halloween."

This special edition of Lillard's ninth signature shoe embraces a macabre aesthetic. The sneaker is predominantly cloaked in jet black, from the upper to the internal bootie and tongue, setting a dark canvas for the more sinister details to shine. The patent leather overlay glistens in ominous black, with a blade-like finish applied to the midfoot Three Stripes, reminiscent of Freddy Krueger’s infamous mechanical claws — and it comes complete with blood-dripping effects that add a gruesome touch.

Adding a personal twist, the lateral collar sports the acronym “YKW71I,” a nod to Lillard’s famous “Dame Time” and his record-breaking 71-point game. This detail is rendered in a bone-like font, adding extra oomph to the Halloween theme.

Underfoot, the black midsole is streaked with red, mimicking blood splatters, while the durable rubber outsole ensures performance isn’t sacrificed for style.
