On Friday, April 25, the world got to experience a faster version of the fastest marathon racer thanks to Adidas. Although the initial launch of the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 2 was highly-limited, it showcased the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of sport.
The silhouette's launch color scheme ("Silver Metallic/Lucid Red") is expected to release in wider quantities as the Berlin Marathon approaches (Saturday, Sept. 20), and it may be joined by a classic "Footwear White/Core Black" makeover.
At quick glance, the newly-surfaced marathon racer looks like the original Adios Pro Evo or even a white-and-black edition of the popular Evo SL trainer. Close inspection, however, cements the style as the newer Adios Pro Evo 2. The design's name is printed onto the lateral hind-foot while an Evo distinction joins typical LIGHTSTRIKE PRO branding on the midsole. Adidas' iconic 3-Stripes logo delivers stark contrast throughout the clean-colored ensemble, spilling onto the bottom-half on the lateral side.
Underfoot, neither LIGHTTRAXION nor Continental rubber found on other Adidas Adizero Running products is used. Instead, the lightweight marathon racer indulges in a liquid rubber that helps keep weight down.
Enjoy official photos of the second-ever Adios Pro Evo 2 to surface. Pairs should release in limited numbers via Adidas.com as the last few Abbott World Marathon Majors take place. The white-and-black model is priced at $500.
